R. VENKATARAMAN (1910-2009) OCCUPIED THE AUGUST OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT OF INDIA DURING 1987-1992, A PERIOD CONSIDERED TO HAVE BEEN A TESTING PHASE FOR THE INDIAN DEMOCRACY.
